A walled 15th-century Ottoman village on a limestone cliff over the Neretva — medieval citadel, mosque, and pomegranate orchards.

Počitelj is a preserved medieval walled village on a steep limestone slope above the Neretva river, about 30 kilometres south of Mostar. Built progressively from the 15th century under Bosnian, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian rule, it remains one of the best-preserved Ottoman urban complexes in the Balkans. Highlights include the Šišman Ibrahim-paša Mosque (1562), the Sahat-kula clock tower, and the old citadel which offers panoramic views across the river valley. Local vendors at the entrance sell fresh pomegranates, figs, and preserves from the surrounding orchards — peak season is September and October. Počitelj is on the itinerary of most Kravica tours from Dubrovnik and the Mostar full-day tour.
