Your driver is usually Ante, Tomislav, or Stipe — Split-area locals who've run the Split–Mostar route for years. English-speaking, they handle the border paperwork and know the best lunch spots in Mostar old town.
Bring a swimsuit, towel, and water shoes for the pebbled Kravica pool. Cash (BAM or EUR) for lunch and drinks at the falls — cards rarely work on site — plus roughly 20 KM (€10) per person for the Kravica Nature Park entry ticket, also cash only. In July and August, add a hat and sunscreen — the walk down to the pool is fully exposed.
The Split–Mostar route has two scenic options and we usually pick based on conditions: the coastal drive via Makarska and Neum is softer and longer; the inland route via Imotski is shorter but crosses higher ground. In mid-summer we favour coastal for the breeze; in shoulder months inland gives you better light through the karst country.
Border at Gorica/Neum is typically 15–30 minutes. Mostar old town is busiest 11:00–15:00 — we time the walking tour for a window that mostly avoids the peak. At Kravica, arriving around 14:00 means a quieter pool than the midday crowd.
Rain at Kravica is cinematic rather than a problem; the Mostar walking tour works in any weather short of full storm. Summer afternoons can bring short thunderstorms in the Neretva valley — they usually pass within 30 minutes and we time stops around them.
If conditions make the day genuinely unworkable, we move you to the next available dry day at no charge. The tour runs reliably from mid-March through October; winter tours possible but not routine.
Couples, families with kids 6+, solo travelers and small groups staying in Split. Not a fit if you need barrier-free accessibility — the path down to the Kravica pool is steep in places.
No — the Kravice Waterfalls entrance fee is paid directly at the site and is not included in your tour price. The fee is set by the local authority and changes seasonally. Your driver will advise you on the current amount before arrival.
Yes — swimming is the main attraction. The pool beneath the waterfall is safe and refreshing in summer. The best swimming season is June to September when water levels and temperatures are ideal. In spring the falls are more powerful but swimming areas may be restricted.
June to August is peak season — warm water, sunny skies, and full flow. May and September are quieter with cooler but still pleasant conditions. Winter visits are possible and the falls are dramatic, but swimming is not an option. Crowds are heaviest in July and August.
